NJ trooper dies after living with medical condition from work-related injury
A veteran trooper with the New Jersey State Police Force has died after suffering from a medical condition that stemmed from a work-related injury.
In a social post, the New Jersey State Police announced the passing of Sgt. First Class Sean Acker who died on Feb. 4.
An obituary online says that Acker was born in Abington, Pennsylvania, and grew up with three brothers in Howell Township, New Jersey.
He would then go on to serve in the United State Air Force before joining the New Jersey State Police in 2006.

“His legacy is reflected not only in his professional accomplishments, but in the countless lives he touched through his kindness, generosity, and sincere care for others,” the obituary for Acker reads.
Acker served with the State Police for over 19 years and is survived by his wife, Retired Captain Lisa Acker, and their two children.
