New developments cause traffic concerns in St. Charles County

ST. CHARLES COUNTY, Mo. – St. Charles County residents say traffic is a major issue along a particular stretch of Highway N; and it could be getting worse soon.
The stretch between Interstate 64 and Highway Z has been called the fastest-growing part of the St. Louis metro’s fastest-growing county. And now, another proposed development could add to the traffic concerns.
As we found out, residents are pushing for county leaders to take steps to prevent making existing traffic issues in the area worse.
But county leaders say delays from the Missouri Department of Transportation, along with challenges posed by state laws pertaining to annexations, put them in a difficult position when it comes to regulating and lessening the impact of these new developments.
