Multiple people detained after shots fired in Plantation neighborhood

Multiple people were detained Tuesday after shots were fired in a Plantation neighborhood, police said.
Plantation Police officers responded before 6 p.m. to the 12000 block of Northwest 6th Street, north of Broward Boulevard.
There were no reports of any injuries.
Officials have not released further information on how many people were detained or the circumstances around the shooting.
The heavy police response brought the quiet neighborhood to a standstill Tuesday evening. Chopper 6 captured the scene from above as SWAT and other units surrounded a home listed on Airbnb as an “Italian luxury home.”
Hours into the investigation, officers towed away a red Tesla.
At least two of the men who were initially detained were later released. They walked past NBC6’s camera but declined to comment.
The incident caught neighbors by surprise in what they described as a normally peaceful community.
“My brother came home around five o’clock, I think it was. And he claimed he heard some gunshots, which is very rare because this area is super quiet, super relaxed,” said neighbor Carlo Santelli. “Before you know it, there’s helicopters, there’s police activity. I rode my boat over here trying to see what was going on, and they told me, go home, lock the doors. A little scary. Got three young kids. And I’m glad everything’s okay now, though.”
The investigation remains active.
