Most San Diego city offices to be closed for Christmas
Administrative offices and some city of San Diego facilities will see limited closures Wednesday for Christmas Eve, with most facilities closed Thursday on Christmas Day.
All city administrative offices will be closed on Thursday.
Curbside trash, recyclables and organic waste pickup will not be collected for customers served by the city’s Environmental Services Department, with collection delayed until Friday, and Friday’s regularly scheduled collection delayed until Saturday. Also this week, ESD will not be delivering any new gray trash bins or making any service-level changes.
All of San Diego’s 37 branch libraries will be closed Wednesday and Thursday, to be reopened at 9:30 a.m. Friday. City swimming pools and recreation centers will also be closed both days, to be reopened with their typical schedules on Friday.
Public buildings in Balboa Park, including the Municipal Gym, Morley Field, the Botanical Building and Balboa Park Activity Center, will be closed both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
All city reservoirs will be closed Christmas Day, along with Mission Trails Regional Park Visitor Center in the City of Santee. Tecolote Nature Center will also be closed both days.
The San Diego Office of the City Clerk will be closed Christmas Day. Passport services will not be available for customers served by the City Clerk on both Christmas Day and on Friday.
City facilities open on a normal operating schedule both Christmas Day and Christmas Eve include Chollas Lake (weather permitting), Mission Trails Regional Park, Tecolote Canyon Natural Park and city golf courses (with holiday rates applying). Mission Bay Golf Course in Pacific Beach will close at dusk Wednesday and Thursday.
Parking meters, street parking time restrictions, yellow zones and posted street sweeping routes within the city will not be enforced Christmas Day. Posted street sweeping routes will also not be enforced on the holiday. All other parking violations will be enforced.
