Miami man among 3 arrested with fraudulent credit cards, fake military IDs: Sheriff
A Miami man and two other suspects are facing charges after Florida authorities said they found a large amount of fraudulent credit cards, fake military IDs and stolen identifications.
The three suspects were arrested after deputies responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle at a Wawa in Palm City just after 3 a.m. on Jan. 29, Martin County Sheriff’s Office officials said.
All three were found inside a white Hyundai that had been parked at a fuel pump for over 30 minutes, including one suspect who was trying to conceal himself in the back seat, officials said.
The suspects were giving false names and “displaying signs of nervous behavior,” the sheriff’s office said, leading to a search of the vehicle.
Inside the car, investigators discovered numerous fraudulent credit cards, multiple fake U.S. Army identification cards, a fraudulently obtained Massachusetts driver’s license, and a ledger containing person and banking information tied to identity theft, officials said.
Deputies also found drug paraphernalia, including items with suspected fentanyl residue.
One of the suspects had a warrant out of Massachusetts, and other admitted to using fraudulent identification to obtain credit cards to rent the car, authorities said.
Till Freeman Sheffield, 30, of Miami, and 44-year old Ryan Bosivert and 49-year old Kristin Chase, both of Boston, were arrested and booked into jail on multiple felony charges.
Officials said detectives are still investigating and working to identify more potential victims connected to the recovered credit cards and fraudulent documents.
