MDSO investigating deputy-involved shooting outside home in SW Miami-Dade
The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office is investigating a reported deputy-involved shooting in Southwest Miami-Dade.
According to MDSO, the shooting occurred near a home along Southwest 112th Avenue and Southwest 221st Street on Thursday afternoon.
7Skyforce hovered over the scene, where authorities cordoned off the area around a home.
The street remains closed to traffic while the investigation is conducted.
The circumstances leading up to the deputy discharging their weapon remains unclear.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue confirmed one person was transported to a local area hospital.
As is the case with all deputy-involved shootings, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement will also be involved in the investigation.
