Man pistol-whipped, dog recovered after being stolen in Miramar: Police
Police are investigating after a man was pistol-whipped and had his dog stolen in a Miramar neighborhood early Monday, officials said.
An investigation is underway in Miramar on Monday after a man was attacked and his dog was stolen during an armed homed invasion involving three people, police said.
According to Miramar Police, officers received a ShotSpotter alert at 12832 Southwest 30th Street, and when officers arrived at the scene, they found shell casings.
Police said that a man suffered injuries after he was pistol-whipped by suspects, but was okay after he was checked out by Miramar Fire Rescue.
During their investigation, the man told officers that several people arrived in the area and took his French bulldog.
The dog was eventually recovered, police said.
One woman, Juliana Serena, was arrested and charged home invasion robbery with a firearm and possession of cocaine, police said.
