Man injured in Lemon Grove home explosion
The Sheriff’s Bomb/Arson Unit is investigating a minor explosion at a home that injured a man in Lemon Grove.
On Sunday, December 14, just before 12:30 p.m., deputies from the Lemon Grove Sheriff’s Substation responded to an explosion at a home in the 8300 block of Broadway. Within minutes, deputies along with firefighters with the Heartland Fire Department arrived at the scene. They quickly determined the minor explosion happened in the living room of the home. A man in his 30s was hurt in the blast. He was driven by a neighbor to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The investigation is ongoing, but Sheriff’s Bomb/Arson Detectives say all indications point to a propane explosion.
