Man injured after argument leads to shooting overnight in West Philadelphia
An investigation is underway after police said a man was shot following an argument with another individual in West Philadelphia.
According to the Philadelphia Police Department, on Friday, November 7, 2025, just after 9 p.m., officers responded to reports of gunfire in the area of 53rd and Market Streets.
Police said when officers arrived, they found a 36-year-old man on the 5300 block of Market Street suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the left arm.
The man was taken to a local hospital for treatment, according to police.
Police said an investigation found that the man had left a nearby bar and became involved in an argument with another man before the shooting happened.
Investigators describe the suspect as a man, approximately 5’8” to 5’10” tall, 35–45 years old, with short dreadlocks. He was last seen wearing a long brown coat and blue jeans before fleeing south on 53rd Street and west on Ludlow Street.
Police shared that no arrests have been made at this time.
