Man found shot to death in front of Florida City townhome: MDSO

Police were investigating after a man was found shot dead Wednesday in front of a townhome in Florida City, officials said.

Florida City Police officers responded at 4:18 p.m. to reports of a shooting in the 400 block of Northeast 2nd Terrace, where they found a man with apparent gunshot wounds.

Chopper6 captured investigators at the scene, with a body covered by a yellow tarp near a white car.

Paramedics determined the man was dead at the scene. His identity wasn’t released. Relatives said he was 23 years old.

The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office is investigating the circumstances of the shooting. An officer at the scene confirmed the shooting did not happen at that location.

Neighbors said the man was shot and driven in the passenger seat of a white Jeep to a home where a relative lives.

There was no information on a subject. Ring camera photos capture what appears to be deputies detaining a person, although law enforcement officials said they do not have anyone in custody.

Further details were not available.
