A man who was arrested after being accused in a fatal stabbing at a park in Northwest Miami-Dade has been charged with murder, authorities said.

According to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office, the stabbing happened at around 9:45 a.m. Tuesday at Arthur Woodard Park, located at 1220 Northwest 99th Street.

Deputies said that the man who was stabbed was found unresponsive near some gym equipment and died at the park.

The deceased was identified Wednesday as 33-year-old Jean Wilga Stinfile.

Chopper6 hovered over the area, where deputies gathered around what appeared to be a tarp. As deputies continued to investigate, the park was completely closed off with tape.

During the investigation, witnesses told deputies that they saw a man running away from the scene, which helped them track him down.

Prats was then taken into custody.

It’s unclear what led up to the fatal stabbing.
