Man attacked by driver after fender bender at Jersey Shore intersection Sunday
Police are investigating after a fender bender at a New Jersey intersection led to a man being attacked by another driver over the weekend, according to a spokesperson with the Lakewood Police Department.
This all started just before 1:30 p.m. on Dec. 28 when a male driver stopped at the intersection of First Street and Clifton Avenue in Lakewood, Ocean County, to let pedestrians cross the street, police explained.
While stopped, another car crashed into him from behind, police said.
When the driver stepped out of his car, he started to talk to the other person about the crash when the other person grabbed him, pushed him to the ground and dragged him for a distance, according to officials.
The altercation led to the driver suffering injuries to his ribs, neck, knees and face, police reported.
The other driver got back into his car and drove away, police said.
The Lakewood Police Department is currently investigating this case.
