Man arrested after online date ends in armed robbery: Miami-Dade Sheriff
A Miami-Dade man was arrested after authorities said his online date with a woman ended with him robbing her at gunpoint.
Willie James Taylor, 19, is facing armed robbery and battery by strangulation charges in the Monday night incident that happened in Miami Lakes, an arrest report said.

According to the report, Taylor and the victim met through an online dating app, exchanged numbers and agreed to meet at Taylor’s home.
The victim arrived at his home where he invited her inside and she went to the restroom.
When she came out, Taylor grabbed her by the neck and pushed her against a wall then put a gun to her head and forcibly removed her purse from her wrist, the report said.
Taylor pointed the gun at her and demanded she leave before she fled and contacted police, the report said.
Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office deputies responded and found Taylor in the parking lot, where he was taken into custody.
Taylor had $200 in cash on him that had been in the victim’s purse and the victim identified him as the robber, the report said.
The report said Taylor denied being involved in the robbery, but he was arrested and booked into jail.
