Localized downpours likely Wednesday

A lake-effect rain band will be most concentrated ether over or near Buffalo and the suburbs for much of this Wednesday. The band will wiggle at times so areas farther north and south of Buffalo could experience some drier moments. Moderate to heavy downpours will be embedded within the band with even more downpours by later afternoon and into the evening. Rumbles of thunder are possible and even some waterspouts out over Lake Erie.

The wind direction shifts a bit Thursday-Friday which will result in a greater chance of showers across the hills just south of Buffalo and perhaps near Lake Ontario. A drier weekend is in store.
