Ja Rule celebrates his 50th with a grand appearance, bar takeover for SOBEWFF
South Beach Wine and Food Festival is always serving up major star power. This time, hip hop icon, Ja Rule, is ruling the scene. From a bar takeover to celebrating his birthday early, Deco’s raising a glass to always “Livin’ It Up.”
Ja Rule is known for doing it up big in hip hop.
And this year, he’s making a grand appearance at the Goya Foods’ Tasting Village inside the South Beach Wine and Food Festival.
Ja Rule: “Showcasing the whiskey, I’m gonna perform. We’ll be set up with a nice installation there where people can come by.”

The singer’s whiskey, called Amber & Opal, has many flavors.
Ja Rule: “It gives you hint of like cinnamon and ginger, fig. And the other botanical we use is a Chinese tea, a Chinese black tea, so all of these beautiful blends come together to give what is the special taste of Amber & Opal. And I’m telling you, there’s nothing like it in the market.”
Ja is gonna be celebrating his birthday early in the 305 with a weekend lineup starting on Friday the 20th.
Ja Rule: “Yeah, I’m gonna be 50. I’m getting old, man. I’m gonna celebrate down there of course. Loews Hotel, 4:30 to 5:30, Friday. Come see me, so that’ll be a lot of fun. My bar takeovers are second to none so can’t wait to do that.”
Then it’ll be an all day party the next day.
Ja Rule: “Check me out 10 a.m. Saturday. I’ll be with my guy Bert Kreischer, man and my girl Ana Navarro, that’s gonna be hilarious and, Jesus Christ, outspoken and a lot of laughs so make sure you definitely tune in for that. I’ll be at the Grand Village all day Saturday as well. You have to come down there and share in some of the festivities with me and the A&O gang and taste some of the new product. It’ll be a lot of fun.”
He might be turning a milestone year, but he’s still feeling and looking young.
Ja Rule: “It’s going to be a really, really fun night with my good friends at the wine, food and wine festival.”
