Human remains found at construction site in Palm Beach County: Sheriff

An investigation was continuing Wednesday after human remains were discovered at a construction site in Palm Beach County, according to the sheriff’s office.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said that deputies responded at around 3:08 p.m. Monday to the active construction site at 4489 Davis Road in Lake Worth for a report of “possible human remains.”

Once there, deputies found “what appeared to be a femur and pelvic bone on the property.”

Authorities said they immediately notified the Palm Beach County Medical Examiner’s Office and personnel from Florida Gulf Coast University.

A formal recovery operation started on Tuesday, and the sheriff’s office continues searching for additional remains. A second forensic team is expected to sift the site on Wednesday.

“All recovered skeletal remains will be transported to the Medical Examiner’s Office for further examination and identification,” the sheriff’s office said.

Information on the person’s identity and what could’ve possibly led to their death was not immediately provided.

The investigation continues.
