Global Concepts Charter School hosts Bills rally

LACKAWANNA, N.Y. (WIVB) -- After their bye week, the Buffalo Bills are back this Sunday playing against the Carolina Panthers. And if you're wondering if the excitement for Sunday's game is growing here in Western New York, just ask some of the students and staff at Global Concepts Charter School.

"I'm looking forward to sitting down and cheering them on, it's going to be a wonderful time," said Barry Schaub, school principal. "Hopefully they had the rest they needed for this bye week and we'll see a victory."

DJ Milk, DJ Yes, and Billy Buffalo all visited the school to hold a pep rally ahead of the weekend.

"I don't know if I've ever seen the energy that they had here first thing in the morning, it was incredible. The kids were screaming, the teachers were really into it, the faculty and staff, everyone had a great time," said Michelle Roberts, vice president of community impact with the Bills.

Dancing, bubbles, music, and team spirit filled the auditorium. They had touchdown dance competitions, handed out prizes, and every student received a rally towel that was provided by Victory Live.

"You know there's nothing that brings this community together quite like the Buffalo Bills. We saw that excitement last season that our team and our community had around the Bills and we had a lot of great times with the pep rallies last year and we thought we'd try to bring that to more schools this year," said Roberts.

The Bills are planning on having these pep rallies at schools throughout Western New York on a regular basis.

"We do a lot within the community and we try to get schools for these that maybe we haven't been to in a little bit, so different areas of Western New York. We haven't been here to Global Concepts Charter School, they actually had put in request for something and we thought let's head there next," said Roberts.
