Forward rate of ‘Scissors Fire' near Highway 78 stopped at 68 acres

Cal Fire San Diego crews are working to fully contain a fire that broke out Sunday near Highway 78.

The fire was reported at around 3 p.m. near Highway 78 and San Felipe Road, according to Cal Fire San Diego.

By 5 p.m., Cal Fire San Diego announced that the forward rate of Scissors Fire was halted at 68 acres and was 10% contained. By 7 a.m. Monday, the fire was 50% contained.

There were no structures threatened nor any evacuation orders issued.
