Fis Banga uses shocking fake skits to teach real lessons about Philly violence

He’s known online as Fis Banga. He’s a rapper and motivational activist whose latest skit online is grabbing the attention of thousands of people.

The recent video has already had over 1 million views and counting as it blurs the lines of reality.

At first glance, someone could think that it’s real as the video portrays an attempted home invasion and shooting in West Philadelphia.

It’s shocking and memorable and that’s the point.

In the skit, Nafis Middleton, or Fis Banga, calls 911 after appearing to shoot and kill a 16-year-old. Then, he starts rapping about his anti-violence message.

“I’m showing you the consequences up front so you could dodge those potholes. See the consequences up front and say ‘I don’t want that lifestyle,'” Middleton explained to NBC10.

Other skits that he posts talk about being locked up in jail as a teenager as well as the dangers of guns.

“Everybody just feed into negativity. Their eyes glued on to that. So, if I can catch y’all in that state but have y’all leave with a positive message, I feel that I’ve done my job,” he said.

Dr. Malik Cooper is from South Philadelphia and specializes in counseling. He said that he thinks Middleton’s latest video should be show in schools and recreation centers.

“Wherever youth are that’s where we need to be and we need to show them videos like this because it’s a hard, stark reminder. This could happen to them,” Dr. Cooper said.
