The incident was a “really small fire that started off intense due to proximity to powerlines and an apartment complex,” said SDFD Capt. Jason Shanley.

“Thankfully, crews were able to get a hold of it really quick before it caused any real issue,” Shanley added.

Due to the fire, San Diego police closed Mission Center Road from Murray Ridge Road to Sevan Court, the San Diego Police Department wrote on X at 1:04 p.m. The closure would last about one hour, SDPD added.

Police urged drivers to avoid the area and find alternate routes of traffic.
