Firefighter hospitalized after being struck by a vehicle in Wilmington, Del.
A firefighter in Wilmington, Delaware was hospitalized on Wednesday night after, officials said, they were struck by a vehicle outside of a fire station.
According to fire officials, the incident happened when a firefighter was struck by a vehicle as the victim was helping a ladder truck back out of a fire station along the 200 block of South Maryland Avenue in Wilmington, Delaware on Wednesday night.
The firefighter, officials said, was take to a nearby hospital where they were listed in stable condition.
In a note on social media, Five Points Fire Company Chief Tom Manley said the firefighter was “in good spirits,” following the crash.
Officials did not immediately provide further information on this incident, nor did they say if the driver involved in this crash could face any charges because of the incident.
But, officials said, an investigation is ongoing.
