Fire erupts at residential construction site in San Diego

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — A fast-moving fire broke out at a residential construction site in Teralta West early Sunday, fully engulfing the structure and prompting temporary evacuations, authorities said.
San Diego Fire-Rescue crews responded to the scene at 4020 42nd St. around 12:30 a.m. to find a two-story building under construction already consumed by flames. A power line had come down near the building, which officials say may have played a role in the fire, though that has yet to be determined.
A few evacuations were ordered for nearby homes, but all have since been lifted, according to fire officials.
San Diego Gas & Electric was called to the scene, which is standard procedure for structure fires, especially those involving electrical lines.
The San Diego Police Department and SDFD both investigated the fire for potential arson, but no signs of foul play were found.
No injuries or transports were reported, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
