FAA to cut flights; Judge orders Trump admin to fully fund SNAP

The record drought without a Mega Millions jackpot winner continues.

There was no jackpot winner in Friday’s Mega Millions drawing for an estimated $843 million prize. The winning numbers from the drawing were 48, 70, 23, 21, 16 and a Mega Ball of 5.

That was the 38th drawing since the game’s last jackpot winner, the longest streak in Mega Millions history. There were 37 straight drawings without a winner in 2021 before a $1.05 billion jackpot was struck in Michigan.

This record-breaking winless drought now sees the jackpot climb to an estimated $900 million, the eighth-largest amount in Mega Millions history. A potential winner of the next drawing, which is set for Tuesday night, would also have a $415.3 million cash option.

The last Mega Millions jackpot win came in June, when a ticket sold in Virginia secured a $348 million prize.

The Mega Millions is played in 45 states, Washington, D.C., and the U.S. Virgin Islands, with drawings taking place on Tuesdays and Fridays. The odds of winning the jackpot are a minuscule 1 in 290,472,336.

A winning ticket in Florida back in August 2023 earned the largest jackpot in Mega Millions history at $1.602 billion. That stands as one of just seven Mega Millions jackpot wins to surpass the $1 billion mark.
