Eagles injury update: A.J. Brown, 5 others ruled out for Sunday

Eagles star receiver A.J. Brown (hamstring) and Pro Bowl center Cam Jurgens (knee) missed the entire week of practice and have been ruled out for Sunday.

Here are game statuses for Week 8 against the Giants:

Out: WR A.J. Brown (hamstring), C Cam Jurgens (knee), CB Adoree’ Jackson (concussion), OLB Azeez Ojulari (hamstring), CB Jakorian Bennett (pectoral), DE Brandon Graham (non-injury)

Questionable: Darius Cooper (shoulder)

Brown played 46 of 50 snaps against the Vikings and had 4 catches for 121 yards and 2 touchdowns. But he popped up on the injury report to start this week. Brown also had a hamstring injury in training camp. During the short viewing window of Friday’s practice, Brown was a spectator as he has been all week. At the beginning of Thursday’s session, he worked on a side field with a trainer.

Jurgens injured his knee in Minnesota and lasted just 15 snaps before exiting. He was replaced by veteran Brett Toth, who is in line to start at center against the Giants on Sunday. While the Eagles have some options, it seems like that’s the one they’re going with.

While it seemed like there was a chance Graham would play this week, the Eagles will wait until after the bye week. The team has a two-week exemption with Graham so he won’t have to count toward the roster until they get ready for Week 10 in Green Bay. Graham was a full participant all week but he has been ramping up. While Graham won’t play on Sunday, he will at least be on the sideline for the first time this season.

Without Ojulari and Graham, the Eagles are down to three healthy edge rushers: Jalyx Hunt, Josh Uche and Patrick Johnson. Expect LB Jihaad Campbell to play quite a bit on the edge in this game.

Both CB Jakorian Bennett and WR Darius Cooper were back on the field Friday but Bennett has been ruled out. They had their practice windows opened this week after spending four weeks on IR. Without Jackson and Bennett, expect Kelee Ringo to get the start opposite Quinyon Mitchell. With Cooper questionable, he would need to be activated by 4 p.m. on Saturday.
