Did you see him hopping around? Rex the wallaby found safe after escaping farm

Did you see this friendly guy hopping around your neighborhood?

A three-year-old wallaby was found safe after it escaped its enclosure at the Lots of Love Farm in the Williamstown section of Monroe Township, Gloucester County, on Monday night, the furry friend’s owner told NBC10.

Staff says that Rex he went on the run on Dec. 29, but was finally found one day later at a nearby Walmart on the Black Horse Pike.

“He was found by some really cool people,” said Sue Layden, Rex’s owner.

Apparently it took the help of some teenagers to catch the marsupial native to Australia and New Guinea in the Walmart parking lot.

“It’s actually a miracle, they’re not easy to catch,” Layden said. “The community, with their help, they made it possible. Yay for them too.”

She added that Rex is now home safe and warm.

“He is home safe, sound, comfy, fed and warm,” she said.

A hoppy ending to 2025.
