Chula Vista hosts pet adoption open house event
People in the San Diego area had the opportunity to come home with a new pet after Chula Vista Animal Services “Howl-Oween Open House.”
The event allowed people the opportunity to adopt pets for free during the event and the month of October.
“We invite the public in to see all the services that we do and hopefully get some animals adopted. We waive all adoption fees for today,” Chula Vista Animal Services, Public Information Specialist, Viviana Castellanos said.
Chula Vista Animal Services’ is currently over capacity and using overflow kennels, according to Chula Vista Animal Services.
“We’re over capacity, so our events are really focused on finding our animals homes and, for that reason, we waive the adoption fees for our events whenever we do them, and it’s because we have so many animals that need a loving home. We are at the point where we have to use our overflow kennels, which we had to purchase because we had no more space,” Castellanos said.
The event also hosted various vendors, festive treats and Halloween costumes.
Chula Vista Animal Services’ adoption fees are waived for the remainder of October.
