Child killed in hit-and-run crash in Chollas Creek: SDPD
A 6-year-old boy was hit and killed by a vehicle while crossing the street near the intersection between University Avenue and 54th Street at around 6:50 p.m. on Saturday, according to the San Diego Police Department.
The driver of the vehicle failed to stop and authorities are now searching for them in the area. The suspect’s vehicle is described as a possible two-door Honda Civic.
The child was transported to the hospital in CPR status where he later succumbed to his injuries, according to authorities.
At 7:45 p.m. the California Highway Patrol issued a Sig Alert closure for University Avenue between 54th Street and 58th Street. The closure is expected to last for two and a half hours.
