Chargers legend Drew Brees added to FOX Sports team

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- Former Chargers quarterback Drew Brees is making his next career move to the broadcast booth.

The thirteen-time Pro Bowl quarterback and Super Bowl champion with the New Orleans Saints will be an analyst with FOX Sports, the company said on its website Friday.

"I appreciate the opportunity FOX has given me in the booth and with their team," Brees said. "I hope my passion for this game is reflected in the knowledge and insights I provide to the fans each Sunday."

Brees will be replacing NFL analyst Mark Sanchez, who was stabbed during a fight with a truck driver outside an Indianapolis hotel on Oct. 4. Sanchez, however, faces a felony battery charge, along with three misdemeanor charges, for what prosecutors have said was a fight over parking.

For the remainder of the 2025 season, Brees will call games with Adam Amin and Kristina Pink. The future NFL Hall of Famer will make his debut in Week 11.

"Drew is one of the best to ever play the game, and we couldn’t be more excited to have his prolific credentials and unique insights as part of our coverage on Sundays," said Brad Zager, FOX Sports President of Production & Operations/Executive Producer Brad Zager. "We’re thrilled to welcome him to the FOX Sports family."

During his 20-year NFL career, Brees set numerous records at the quarterback position, including becoming the all-time leader in career passing yards (80,358) and ranking second all-time in touchdown passes (571) and completion percentage (67.7%).

Besides his career with the Chargers, Brees has kept his ties with the San Diego area as an offensive coordinator and passing game coordinator for Santa Fe Christian High School.
