Car fire on departures level at Fort Lauderdale airport causes traffic delays
A car fire was causing some major traffic issues at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport on Thursday.
The vehicle caught fire on the upper departures level at the airport in front of Terminal 3, airport officials said.
Broward Sheriff’s Fire Rescue responded and put out the fire, and there were no injuries, officials said.
But the fire caused all traffic to be shut down on the departures level, which caused some major traffic backups in the area.
The roadways were later reopened. No other details were immediately known.
