Boy, 15, shot while sitting outside home with family in South Philly
A teen has been hospitalized after, officials said, he was shot twice while sitting in front of his South Philadelphia home overnight.
According to police, the incident happened at about 1:30 a.m. along the 1900 block of Woodstock Street, when a 15-year-old boy was sitting outside his home with three family members — also teenagers — when the group heard gunshots.
They immediately realized that the 15-year-old boy had been shot and, officials said, he was taken to a nearby hospital.
The boy had been shot twice in the leg and, officials said, he has been placed in stable condition.
At the scene, officials found five shell casings and, police said, another home along the nearby 2000 block of Mifflin Street also appeared to have a window shot out in this same incident.
No arrests have been made and investigators said no motive is yet known.
An investigation is ongoing, officials said.
