Boy, 12, in critical condition after hit-and-run in El Cajon
EL CAJON, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) -- A 12-year-old boy is in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run crash Wednesday night in El Cajon, authorities said.

According to the El Cajon Police Department, the collision happened around 8 p.m. in the 300 block of Ballantyne Street. Officers and paramedics arrived to find the child in the roadway with major head injuries.
The driver did not stop and fled the scene, police said. Witnesses described the vehicle as a white or silver SUV with front-end damage.
Paramedics rushed the boy to a nearby hospital, where he is in stable condition.
