Newly released body camera footage captured the moments when a deputy and a teenager raced to save his sister, who was in a lake in Pasco County
According to the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office, deputies received a call about a missing 5-year-old with autism who was near Lake Lisa Park.
When the deputy arrived at the scene, someone in the area was heard screaming that the girl was in the water.
Moments later, the deputy was seen running towards a fenced area, hopping over it and going through tree branches until he made his way to the water.
In the body camera, the girl’s older brother was in the water with her as he was standing chest-deep in the water, trying to keep his sister above the surface.
