Ankle monitor connects teen to St. Louis car break-ins: Police
What police say ultimately tied the information together, was GPS data.
At the time of the break-ins, prosecutors say Harris was wearing a GPS ankle monitor issued to him from his home state of Illinois. According to a probable cause statement, police sued for the GPS data and compared it to all of the times and locations that the break-ins happened across St. Louis.
From that, prosecutors say they were able to place Harris at the scene of every reported break-in connected to that case.
