Alleged reckless driver arrested after locking himself in a home, police say

A man was arrested after allegedly barricading himself in a home following a reported reckless driving incident in Montgomery County on Monday evening, according to the East Norriton Police Department.

This all unfolded just after 5:30 p.m. on Jan. 5 when officers were called to investigate a case of reckless driving, police said.

Officials explained that the alleged driver, identified as a 31-year-old man, drove to a home on the 500 block of Wellington Road and refused to come out.

The man is accused of firing several rounds while barricaded inside the house, police said.

Then, with the help of negotiators from the SWAT team, the man came out of the house and was arrested, police said.

The man is facing criminal charges and the incident is under investigation.
