Alaska Airlines announces 5 new nonstop routes from San Diego International

Did you know that Alaska Airlines considers SAN to be a “key hub?”

Well, it should be no surprise to you, then, and other frequent flyers that the airline flies to what it calls its “Top 15 most popular markets” from San Diego International Airport.

Starting next spring, Alaska will be also be flying daily to Tulsa, Oklahoma (April 22 start date), as well as up to Arcata-Eureka, in Northern California (April 8), making a trip to the redwoods easier than ever for San Diegans. Alaska says that, with the addition of the Arcata-Eureka to its stable, it will serve more airports in the Golden State than any other airline.

Alaska will also be adding nonstops flights from SAN to Oakland, Santa Barbara and Raleigh-Durham starting April 22 as well.

The airline expects to grow air traffic at SAN more than 35% between spring 2025 and spring 2026.

The news comes in the wake of the announcement this past spring that Alaska had added nonstops from SAN to Phoenix, Denver and Chicago.
