60-day warning period begins for red light cameras on Kelly Drive at Eakins Oval

A 60-day warning period for red light cameras along Kelly Drive, at Eakins Oval, in from of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, begins on Monday.

After the end of the warning period, on Jan. 8, 2026, officials with the Philadelphia Parking Authority said in a statement that drivers who violate the red light cameras will be slapped with a $100 fine.

In a statement on the warning period, PPA officials said that red light cameras at key intersections throughout the city have led to a 58% reduction in drivers running red lights.

Officials said, in a statement, the 146 red light cameras at 34 city intersections that the PPA monitors, raised over $23 million in 2024 for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s Transportation Enhancements Grant Program.

Approximately half of those funds, PPA official said, are used for safety improvements in the Philadelphia area.
