3 displaced after crews put out house fire in Deerfield Beach
C.J. Stroud is in concussion protocol after taking a hit Sunday.
The Houston Texans quarterback was scrambling on third-down early in the second quarter when Denver Broncos cornerback Kris Abrams-Draine tackled him while sliding.
No penalty was called for a late-hit, but Stroud took a blow to the chest and his head slammed back to the turf. He remained down with trainers assisting him before walking off under his own power.
Stroud spent time in the blue medical tent on the sidelines before eventually heading back to the locker room. The team said he is being evaluated for a concussion and his return is questionable.
The Texans punted on fourth-down to finish the drive without Stroud, but backup Davis Mills took the field at quarterback on the next possession.
