21 people sick after GI outbreak on Regent Seven Seas Cruise Ship that departed from Miami

An outbreak on a Regent Seven Seas Cruise Ship that departed from Miami to Honolulu resulted in 21 people getting sick, the Centers for Disease Control said.

According to the CDC, out of the 21 people who got sick, six were crew members.

The CDC said the cruise line has since implemented rigorous disinfection measures while isolating the sick.

This case marks the first outbreak of Gastrointestinal (GI) illnesses that has met the CDC’s threshold for public notification this year.
